About The Position

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern will support the EHS team within a manufacturing facility. This role provides hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance, workplace safety programs, risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will collaborate with EHS and operations personnel to proactively manage risk, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and support the development of a strong safety culture. This role is 100% in-person at our Jacksonville, FL locations and does not offer remote work.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments within the manufacturing environment.
  • Support identification of workplace hazards and development of mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain and organize EHS documentation, including inspection records and compliance reports.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance activities as applicable.
  • Support the review and enhancement of EHS programs and procedures through review of applicable regulations.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Assist in tracking and verifying completion of corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing risk and enhancing workplace safety.
  • Promote safety awareness initiatives across the facility.
  • Assist in preparing safety training materials and presentations.
  • Support scheduling and documentation of required EHS training.
  • Support preparation of reports, safety communications, and compliance documentation.
