About The Position

The Environ Health & Safety Coordinator will assist in the implementation of safety programs and initiatives to maintain a safe working environment in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves conducting regular inspections, supporting incident reporting and investigations, coordinating employee training, managing PPE, promoting safety awareness, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing reports, assisting with emergency preparedness, supporting waste management practices, and contributing to continuous improvement of EHS policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of safety programs and initiatives.
  • Ability to conduct plant inspections and identify hazards.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting and investigation processes.
  • Skills in coordinating employee training.
  • Understanding of PPE management and safety standards.
  • Ability to promote safety culture and awareness.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, SC DES and other regulatory agencies.
  • Skills in documentation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with emergency preparedness drills and plans.
  • Understanding of waste management practices.
  • Ability to contribute ideas for EHS policy improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of safety programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the plant to identify potential hazards and safety concerns.
  • Support the tracking and documentation of workplace accidents, near-misses, injuries, and safety concerns.
  • Participate in investigations to determine root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in the scheduling and coordination of employee training on environmental permits, safety procedures, emergency response, and PPE.
  • Help monitor and maintain PPE inventory.
  • Collaborate with the facility EHS Manager to promote safety culture and awareness.
  • Assist in ensuring the plant remains compliant with OSHA, EPA, SC DES and other regulatory agencies.
  • Support the preparation and submission of required safety and environmental reports.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness drills and maintenance of emergency response plans.
  • Support efforts to minimize environmental impact by assisting with waste management practices.
  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute ideas to improve EHS policies and practices.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Conway Facility EHS Manager and the Aalberts IPSA EHS Director.
