About The Position

Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials, liquids, gases, and analyze test data by performing the following duties. Candidate is responsible for complete coordination of all lab activities.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School in Chemistry, Biology or other environmental science, and 1-3 years of experience in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up lab equipment and instrumentation required for routine and non-routine tests, research, or process control.
  • Maintain chemical supplies to all labs.
  • Prepare samples for analysis by Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorptions Spectrometer and Ion Chromatography.
  • Calculate and record ICAP and AA determinations.
  • Test and analyze all products or process materials as needed to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content and other characteristics.
  • Maintain various records on pollutants as required by OHSA, EPA, EPD, Macon Water Authority and other government agencies.
  • Must be able to perform all waste water treatment, plating and other production tests.
  • Evaluate and understand test results and report results to the appropriate parties.
  • Recommend plating adjustments to manufacturing as needed in absence of Finishing Engineer after getting suitable experience with plating process/adjustments.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by management.
