About The Position
The Enviro Serv Worker I - Night Shift is responsible for performing all assigned cleaning tasks professionally, upholding the integrity of the Environmental Services Department. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing various areas within the facility, including patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and public spaces. The worker must complete assignments efficiently, use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment safely, and adhere to patient confidentiality and infection control protocols. Additionally, the position requires providing assistance to visitors, reporting safety hazards, transporting waste, restocking supplies, and participating in departmental improvement initiatives. The role also emphasizes professional conduct, including adherence to dress code, punctuality, ethical behavior, and fostering positive working relationships.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 1–3 months related working experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform all assigned cleaning tasks professionally, upholding the integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and public spaces.
- Complete work assignments efficiently and within designated timeframes.
- Use appropriate cleaning agents and supplies in accordance with safety and procedural guidelines.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment properly and safely.
- Adhere to patient confidentiality protocols at all times.
- Provide directions and assistance to visitors when requested.
- Introduce self to patients, families, and visitors to foster a welcoming environment.
- Identify and report safety hazards promptly.
- Safely transport trash and hazardous waste to designated disposal areas.
- Restock cleaning and hygiene supplies as needed.
- Follow infection control procedures, including proper hand hygiene and isolation protocols.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintain established quality standards in all cleaning activities.
- Work assigned shifts, including day, evening, or night, as scheduled.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Observe and follow all safety precautions consistently.
- Adhere to dress code; maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
- Wear proper identification while on duty and accurately use the timekeeping system.
- Report to work on time and complete tasks within scheduled timeframes.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all privacy regulations.
- Uphold all regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the role.
- Demonstrate ethical behavior in accordance with organizational policies.
- Communicate and embody the mission, values, and goals of the facility.
- Foster positive working relationships with physicians, staff, and health plan representatives.
- Represent the organization professionally within the facility and in the community.
- Assist and communicate respectfully with patients, families, and visitors.
- Attend required departmental in-services and annual reviews.
- Participate in a minimum of 60% staff meetings annually (as scheduled).
- Complete all required annual education and training.
- Actively engage in performance improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate accountability and independence in daily responsibilities.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
