Implements and maintains Authority-wide environmental health and safety policies, procedures, and programs, including those for environmental management systems, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, general industrial safety, fire/life safety, electrical safety, and construction safety. May assist in the development of specific EHS programs use to conduct complex environmental safety surveys and accident investigations. Establishes system performance standards and independently assesses the system's performance, including compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conducts environmental safety audits and inspections and develops/maintains programs intended to reduce environmental risk associated with Authority activities to restore impaired property. Ensures coordination and cooperation between the Office of Environmental Health & Safety and other MARTA Departments on all environmental and industrial hygiene related matters. Has the authority and responsibility to suspend unsafe and/or environmentally hazardous operations to protect employees, the public, property, and the environment. Supports the implementation and maintenance of the Authority’s environmental health & safety programs to include environmental compliance, environment management systems, environmental due diligence, and environmental remediation by developing plans and other procedural documents, developing training materials, developing inspection and audit programs, and conducting associated activities (i.e., inspection training sessions, field work, and related activities. Supports the implementation and maintenance of Authority-wide environmental health and safety programs. This includes general industrial safety, industrial hygiene, fire and life safety, hazardous materials management, confined space safety, and personal protective equipment. Responsibilities involve developing plans and procedural documents, creating training materials, designing inspection and audit programs, and conducting related activities such as inspections, training sessions, field work, and other associated tasks. Supports the implementation and maintenance of the Authority’s environmental health and safety programs, focusing on construction safety and electrical safety.
