About The Position

NABRICO Marine Products is searching for an entry welder to be based in their Caruthersville, MO plant. In this role, you will apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, auto welding, and/or semi-automatic welding equipment. NABRICO Marine Products is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. They manufacture dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, used to transport products like grain, coal, and aggregates. NABRICO Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, NABRICO Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

Requirements

Previous manufacturing experience - at least a year.
Previous welding experience
Be able to qualify as Welder and perform some cutting torch training.
Be capable of welding 3” stringer beads in all positions.
Must be able to perform welding work while wearing all required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a filtering face piece and/or tight-fitting respirator.
An essential function of this position is performing welding, and all activities associated with welding, while at all times possessing the physical qualifications necessary to perform these tasks.

Responsibilities

Perform spot welds up to 3”.
Be capable of performing simple fitter and welder functions, with close supervision.
Must meet the requirements of the job.
Perform general housekeeping/clean-up in assigned work area.
Perform other similar or related jobs as assigned.
Must be able to perform welding work while wearing all required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a filtering face piece and/or tight-fitting respirator.
May require working above ground (15 ft or more).
Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects, comfortable with heights.
May require working in narrow or confined workspaces for extended periods of time.
May require extensive kneeling, bending, walking and/or standing for long periods of time.
