Entry Level Scientist- Viral Clearance

Eurofins USA BioPharma Services•Lancaster, PA
•Onsite

About The Position

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing analytical testing services across food, environmental, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and other industries. Eurofins USA BioPharma Services’ Viral Clearance Services department helps pharmaceutical companies demonstrate that manufacturing processes can remove or inactivate potential viral contaminants. The department deliberately introduces virus into client product intermediates and evaluates how effectively purification steps remove or inactivate it, with testing designed to satisfy ICH Q5A guidelines. Results include measuring virus plaque-forming units and calculating the log reduction value between the initial virus titer and the product-containing fraction after purification. The Entry Level Scientist will contribute to viral clearance studies through work such as virus plaque assays, cell culture and virus sample dilutions, spiking client intermediates with virus, performing client purification processes, and preparing virus stocks. The role uses AKTA chromatography systems, biological safety cabinets, microscopes, and other laboratory equipment. The scientist will complete training, work with an experienced analyst or mentor, prepare standards and samples, conduct analyses, operate equipment independently or with guidance, and review data for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with GMP and/or GLP regulations. This is a full-time, first-shift position, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is not remote. Candidates within commuting distance of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, are encouraged to apply. Relocation assistance is not available, and travel of up to 25% may be required.
