About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Entry-Level Roads and Grounds Worker to join our team in Hertford, NC. This position is open to Skillbridge applicants. The role involves a variety of tasks related to lawn care, landscaping, vegetation management, site upkeep, and basic maintenance and construction. Seasonal duties such as snow shoveling and storm debris removal are also part of the responsibilities. The position requires operating and maintaining various groundskeeping equipment. Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Requirements

Experience using hand tools (rakes, shovels) and power equipment (weed eaters, chainsaws, riding mowers)
Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift heavy materials (up to 50+ lbs)
Knowledge of safety procedures for handling chemicals and operating machinery
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.

Responsibilities

Mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, sod laying, and reseeding turf grass.
Planting and caring for trees, shrubs, flowers, and flower beds.
Trimming hedges, pruning trees, pruning shrubbery, and weeding landscape beds.
Raking leaves, removing litter, blowing debris, and cleaning work sites.
Maintaining walkways, minor repairs to fencing, and installing lawn furniture.
Shoveling snow, spreading ice melt, and removing storm debris.
Operating and performing routine maintenance on mowers, edgers, chain saws, and blowers.
