About The Position

Domtar is hiring an Entry Level Production Technician at its Washington Court House, Ohio location. This full-time, permanent role is listed as Entry-Level Laborer (Backstand Technician). The technician helps convert large paper roll stock into cut-size paper by preparing materials, operating machinery, and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace. The position offers opportunities to develop skills and advance through an internal career path, beginning with the Material Handler role and continuing to Packaging Technician, Operator, and Team Leader.

The starting pay is $24.76 per hour, plus a $1.50 per hour shift premium. The position works 12-hour rotating shifts, with day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Basic math, reading, writing, and computer skills.
• Team-oriented, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Strip, prepare, and load rolls.
• Operate cutting tools and other hand tools, and perform physical lifting safely.
• Follow written or electronic operating procedures.
• Maintain general housekeeping standards and perform basic maintenance duties.
• Work safely and wear required personal protective equipment.
• As a Material Handler, follow material transporting and stacking guidelines.
• Support shipping and receiving operations, including railcars and trailers.
• Operate powered industrial trucks, including fork trucks, clamp trucks, dual fork trucks, bale clamp trucks, and aerial work platforms.
• Properly use hoists and dollies.
• Load and unload trucks, lay rolls, and move pallets and other heavy materials.
• Complete daily safety inspections and maintain work areas.
• Uphold safety, quality, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping standards.
