About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Entry Level Industrial Engineer (Level 1) to join our team in Kennedy Space Center, Florida. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and production of the CST-100 Starliner spacecraft, which is designed to transport crew to the International Space Station and beyond. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience in Industrial Engineering
  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
  • Advanced proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able and willing to work 2nd shift (split shift), including weekends and overtime
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Industrial Engineering tools including project management, production systems, flow and capacity analysis, manufacturing methods, statistical analysis, and lean manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Industrial Engineering Tools used in production including capacity analysis, theory of constraints, waste elimination, production improvements
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of the assembly precedence networks
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action for manufacturing issues
  • Work with operations management to remove roadblocks and prioritize work
  • Utilize a systems-thinking approach to develop creative solutions for complex problems and drive consensus on technical decisions
  • Employ a variety of communication styles to ensure stakeholder and customer satisfaction through project updates, including presentations to program leadership
