About The Position

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates (HCEA) is currently seeking an Entry-Level Full-Time Human Resources Administrative Assistant to join our Corporate Headquarters office in Annapolis Junction, MD! In this position, you will provide administrative data entry support for bi-weekly payroll processing, benefits/human resources, as well as accounting administrative support.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years in HR and/or processing payroll a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel a must
  • Must be able to multi-task and work under deadlines
  • Must be able to handle confidential/sensitive information
  • Solid data entry skills
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication skills verbal and written
  • Must work well in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintains payroll spreadsheets for time entry and payroll needed to process our bi-weekly payroll.
  • Assists the Payroll Administrator with updating payroll changes in Paylocity payroll system.
  • Review and verify source documents before processing changes.
  • Monitoring the HR Dashboard, including pre-employment screenings and onboarding of new hires.
  • Completes verification of employment and DOL survey requests.
  • Reconciles HR invoices.
  • Maintains personnel by filing all Benefit/HR/Payroll related items.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects HR/Payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Backup receptionist duties.
  • Manages Employee Wellness Program and Safety Boot Program.
  • Overall support for HR Administrator as needed
