Opportunity: In partnership with state and federally funded workforce development programs, we are offering a six-month, paid On-the-Job Training opportunity for a Human Resources Assistant with a focus on time and attendance and payroll-related support. This temporary, non-permanent role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to Human Resources operations while developing foundational skills in payroll processes, data accuracy, and compliance. This opportunity is ideal for individuals early in their career who are interested in Human Resources, payroll, accounting, or business operations and who are seeking real-world experience to complement their education or career goals. Participants will work closely with Human Resources and payroll partners and gain insight into how HR, timekeeping, and accounting functions align within a manufacturing organization. Under close supervision, the Human Resources Assistant will support daily HR administrative activities with a strong emphasis on time and attendance tracking and payroll preparation. Responsibilities may include: Assisting with employee timekeeping records, auditing time and attendance data for accuracy, supporting payroll processing activities, maintaining confidential employee records, and assisting with basic reporting and documentation. The role may also support coordination with Finance or Accounting to ensure accurate data flow and compliance with internal controls and payroll timelines. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. A background or coursework in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is advantageous, as the role involves working closely with numerical data, reconciliation, and process accuracy. Participants will be expected to follow established procedures, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders. Throughout the program, participants will develop skills in payroll fundamentals, time and attendance systems, data integrity, compliance awareness, and professional workplace communication. The role provides exposure to HR operations, accounting alignment, internal controls, and the importance of accuracy in employee pay and recordkeeping. Upon completion of the six-month On-the-Job Training program, participants will leave with relevant Human Resources and payroll-related experience, strengthened administrative and analytical skill sets, and increased readiness for future roles in HR, payroll, accounting, or business operations. This position does not guarantee continued employment; however, the experience gained is intended to support long-term career development. This position is offered through a workforce development program and includes specific eligibility requirements as defined by the program partner. Eligibility will be confirmed prior to hire. The role is based on-site in a professional office environment and follows a full-time schedule for the duration of the program. The pay range for this role is $18- $25 an hour.
