About The Position

Black Desert Resort is an ultra-premium destination resort in Southern Utah offering luxury accommodations, elevated dining, and world-class amenities. The Engineering team plays a critical role in maintaining the resort’s infrastructure, ensuring all facilities are safe, functional, and aligned with the resort’s high standards. The Entry-Level Engineer supports the Engineering team by performing light maintenance tasks, responding to guest service requests, and assisting with the upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This position is ideal for individuals beginning a career in resort engineering and facilities maintenance. The role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to follow standard operating procedures, and a willingness to learn technical systems while supporting daily operations.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in general maintenance, building services, or facilities support preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, and basic equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow into more advanced engineering roles.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to work overnight hours.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers with general repairs and scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Perform guest room preventive maintenance (PM), including inspection and minor repair of HVAC filters, door hardware, drains, toilets, light fixtures, and thermostats.
  • Respond to guest room service calls and track completion through work order systems such as Nuvola.
  • Conduct light repairs including paint touch-up, wallpaper patching, caulking, and basic furniture repair.
  • Identify and respond to minor life safety concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Monitor and restock engineering and housekeeping supply areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms, storage areas, and tools.
  • Perform routine walk-throughs of guest and common areas to identify maintenance needs.
  • Safely transport tools, materials, and equipment throughout the resort.
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide courteous, guest-focused service while working in guest-facing areas.
  • Support other departments with maintenance-related needs as required.
  • Uphold Black Desert Resort’s ultra-premium standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
