Entry-Level Civil Engineer - Remediation
About The Position
AECOM is hiring an entry-level civil engineer for its Remediation business line. The business provides engineering design, code consultation, and construction-phase services for public- and private-sector clients. The role contributes to complex engineering projects and a range of planning and design, systems engineering, technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services. The engineer works under the supervision of experienced engineers, collaborating with project teams and clients while supporting technical work, project delivery, safety, and quality requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
- Ability to pass a drug screening.
- Ability to pass a medical screening.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to proactively lead Remediation technical efforts and project team staff.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Experience with construction documentation, construction management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong technical report writing skills and ability to develop design specifications.
Responsibilities
- Build analytic and design skills.
- Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Use computer software to solve basic engineering problems.
- Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, site personnel, and office management.
- Apply safety policies and procedures and support the quality of field efforts and project deliverables.
