Entry Level Civil Engineer - Roadway and Rail
About The Position
HNTB is hiring an entry-level Civil Engineer to assist with project administration, roadway and rail design, and the preparation of specifications and technical reports for projects in the San Francisco Bay Area, particularly in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. The role applies civil and transportation engineering principles and contributes to successful project delivery for HNTB clients. The position requires in-person presence at the San Jose office or an assigned field office, along with local travel to project sites and field offices to collaborate with the project team. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Understanding of engineering principles relevant to the discipline.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and GIS software.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned work within the provided schedule and number of hours.
- Support the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
- Assist with preparing project quantity and cost estimates.
- Assist engineering teams with organizing and administering design files.
- Support engineering teams through research, data collection, field investigations, and project development and design.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
