About The Position

The Entry Level Chemist performs physical, chemical, and instrumental analyses of active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished pharmaceutical products, including tablets, capsules, parenterals, devices, aerosols, liquids, creams, and gels. The role independently operates laboratory instrumentation and prepares samples and runs some instruments with minimal supervision. The chemist also helps set up and validate analytical or related processes, executes method-transfer protocols, documents work for GMP compliance, and performs monthly maintenance of laboratory equipment. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. The position is full time, Monday through Friday, on the first shift from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidates within commuting distance of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, are encouraged to apply; local applicants are preferred.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in chemistry or another related degree concentration, or equivalent directly related experience.
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Perform physical, chemical, and instrumental analyses of active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished pharmaceutical products.
Independently operate laboratory instrumentation, including chromatographic systems, Karl Fischer instruments, UV/Spec, wet chemistry equipment, HPLC, IC, IR, ICP, AA, TGP, DSC, PDA, auto-titrators, TLC, and dissolution apparatus.
Prepare samples for analysis and operate some instrumentation with minimal supervision.
Set up and validate new analytical or related processes used by the department.
Prepare standards and samples for analysis.
Execute method-transfer protocols.
Document work as required for GMP compliance.
Perform monthly maintenance of laboratory equipment.
