About The Position

As an entry-level Civil Engineer within Morrison-Maierle's Transportation group, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of engineering projects. Under the guidance of a Professional Engineer, you will learn and support the planning and design of transportation projects for clients. This includes work on roadways, bridges, high-speed multi-lane systems, bike paths, and sidewalks, as well as smaller municipality projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering technology, or equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
  • 0–3+ years of experience with civil engineering design and construction projects
  • Exposure to engineering design software such as AutoCAD or Civil3D
  • Technical mindset for troubleshooting and resolving complex problems
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record is required for periodic travel

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation preferred or willing to obtain soon after hire

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with clients to grasp project vision.
  • Using design software to create project designs, draft plans, drawings, and models according to project specifications.
  • Ensuring precision and safety through meticulous design attention.
  • Tackling design challenges creatively, resolving complex problems.
  • Supporting project managers with construction administration tasks.
  • Performing project tasks and works closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Completing project tasks from start to finish, supporting project and client services managers.
  • Learning and applying design and construction methodologies to help oversee project builds.
  • Meeting project deadlines and exceed client expectations.
