About The Position

As an entry-level Structural Bridge Engineer, you will be fully engaged in project work, making a difference in the communities you serve. The Bridge Engineer will be responsible for conducting structural engineering analyses, designing engineering solutions, and managing project engineering for transportation-related structural projects within both the public agency and private markets. These responsibilities include serving in a lead or support technical role, depending on project complexity; preparation of engineering calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and, at times, task or project management; day-to-day structural engineering design decisions on bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, including production and scheduling; working in a team environment, both internally and externally; active involvement in client interaction at the project level; leveraging engineering design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation; and writing and completing technical reports and project correspondences.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural required
  • Current Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation or willing to obtain soon after hire
  • 0-3+ years of relevant experience in bridge engineering design work
  • Understanding of engineering design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Principal knowledge of load calculations, structural analysis, and design engineering
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal
