About The Position

The Entertainment Host at The 842 will be responsible for providing unique entertainment for students to enjoy. This role involves hosting events such as Karaoke, managing a signup list, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. The space is equipped with a small stage, sound system, microphones, and TVs that can be integrated into the entertainment production. The host will also be responsible for reporting any equipment issues and communicating with The 1842 staff.

Requirements

• Willingness to work with others
• Good communication skills
• Available to work nights and weekends
• Currently authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Management
• Hospitality experience
• Experience working in group settings

Responsibilities

• Provide unique entertainment for students
• Create a welcoming atmosphere
• Report broken or malfunctioning equipment
• Host Karaoke independently using provided microphones, speakers, and laptop-to-TV connectors
• Communicate with The 1842 staff
• Manage a fair and unbiased signup list for singers
