About The Position

The Mentor is responsible for supporting and providing feedback to students of the assigned projects as provided at the start of term. Mentors provide weekly feedback, guide students in their field of expertise. Mentors are expected to do a total of 13 weekly mentoring sessions with students and the sessions are scheduled during weekdays (generally after regular work hours), and potentially on Saturdays.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable familiarity and experience in one or more of the following disciplines: 2D Animation 3D Animation/3D Modelling Game Development Video Production
  • A minimum of one accredited published movie, game, or app title and/or 3 years of industry experience in an appropriate area of development
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply university, government, agency and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Ability to exercise a high level of initiative and responsibility
  • Ability to use tact and discretion to deal with or settle complex requests or complaints
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people who have limited English language proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant degree/diploma is advantageous
  • Experience working with and teaching students is advantageous
