Enterprise Technology Intern
About The Position
As a Summer Enterprise Technology Intern at Buildertrend, you will provide hands-on internal IT support, manage real tickets and projects, and work with senior IT, Systems, and Security teammates. You will support employee devices and systems, prepare equipment for new hires, and help keep internal technology services operating smoothly. The internship is scheduled for summer 2027. The role is based in an office in Omaha, Nebraska. The schedule is Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with no weekend hours. Buildertrend describes its workplace as a high-energy tech-company office and offers daily lunches, an onsite fitness center, and monthly events for interns and employees.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or a related field.
- Methodical troubleshooting approach and willingness to ask questions when problems arise.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical fixes in plain English to nontechnical coworkers.
- Genuine interest in how internal IT differs from customer-facing technology.
- Reliability, organization, and comfort owning a ticket queue.
Nice To Haves
- Sophomore standing or above is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-tier support by troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and account-access issues.
- Set up equipment for new hires, image laptops, and process equipment returns during offboarding.
- Manage the ticket queue, track assets, and perform basic account administration in Active Directory and SSO.
- Write help articles, setup guides, and process runbooks to help the team become more self-sufficient.
- Partner on small projects such as software rollouts and conference room AV upgrades.
- Learn and use endpoint management, ticketing tools such as Jira, and basic networking.
- Use AI to enhance work while applying critical thinking and taking responsibility for the quality of final work.
