About The Position

As a Summer Enterprise Technology Intern at Buildertrend, you'll help keep every employee's laptop running, every system connected and every new hire ready on day one. This isn't a shadow-and-observe internship. You'll own real tickets and projects from your first week, with senior IT, Systems and Security teammates guiding you. By the end, you'll run a queue with confidence. The internship will be during the summer of 2027.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems or a related field (sophomore standing or above preferred).
Methodical troubleshooter who asks questions instead of panicking when something breaks.
Clear communicator who can explain a fix in plain English to nontechnical coworkers.
Genuine interest in how internal IT differs from customer-facing tech.
Reliable, organized and comfortable owning a ticket queue.

Responsibilities

Provide first- and second-tier support, troubleshooting hardware, software, network and account access issues.
Set up new-hire equipment, image laptops and process offboarding equipment returns.
Manage the ticket queue, track assets and handle basic account administration in Active Directory and SSO.
Write help articles, setup guides and process runbooks that make the team more self-sufficient.
Partner on small projects, such as software rollouts and conference room AV upgrades.
Learn endpoint management, ticketing tools such as Jira and basic networking.
Embrace using AI as a tool to enhance your work, while remaining open to learning, applying critical thinking, and owning the quality of your final work.
