Enterprise Systems Manager

General Matter•Los Angeles, CA
•$130,000 - $180,000•Onsite

About The Position

General Matter is enriching uranium in America with the goal to design, build, and operate the world’s lowest-cost enrichment services in the United States. Our mission is to restore America’s ability to produce nuclear fuel. We are a mission-driven company with a culture of urgency, accountability, and transparency. This role will own the business systems that run General Matter, including the ERP and the manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain, and finance platforms around it, plus the integrations and the data that connect them. This is the business-systems layer, distinct from the enterprise technology and IT infrastructure it runs on. Reporting to the VP of Software, you will own the systems strategy and the multi-year roadmap, carry platform selection including the ERP, and build the team that delivers it. This is a build role where systems are being stood up for the first time in a regulated environment against a licensing calendar. The work spans selection, implementation, and operation. You will work across every department that depends on these platforms and escalate decisions needing manager approval with clear options and a recommendation. Key stakeholders include Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement, Finance and Accounting, IT, Security, HR and People, Legal and Compliance, and Executive Leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in enterprise or business systems, including ownership of a multi-system portfolio and a leadership role on at least one full-cycle ERP or enterprise-platform implementation.
  • Experience owning platform selection end to end, from requirements and vendor evaluation through commercial terms and the implementation-partner or systems-integrator engagement.
  • Experience building and leading a team, including defining roles, hiring, and setting technical and documentation standards.
  • Technical fluency across enterprise platforms such as ERP, MES, QMS, PLM/PDM, WMS, HRIS, and procurement, and their integrations, sufficient to lead technical decisions with architects and engineers.
  • Strong understanding of the business processes these systems serve, across manufacturing, supply chain and procurement, quality, engineering data, and finance.
  • Experience with data governance and master data management across a multi-system landscape, including system-of-record design.
  • Experience operating in a regulated environment, including access control, auditable change management, and data-handling constraints such as export control.
  • Experience bringing a portfolio decision to executive leadership as a clear recommendation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on technical depth, including the ability to read and write code, work directly against platform APIs, and prototype where it unblocks a decision.
  • Experience standing up a systems landscape for the first time, rather than optimizing an established ERP.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as nuclear, aerospace, defense, energy, or medical device, and familiarity with frameworks such as NQA-1, ISO 9001, AS9100, 21 CFR Part 11, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
  • Familiarity with US export control, such as 10 CFR Part 810 or the EAR, and with government-cloud hosting such as AWS GovCloud or FedRAMP-authorized platforms.
  • Experience with platforms such as Oracle Fusion, SAP, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics, a commercial MES, a commercial QMS, and SolidWorks PDM or a comparable PLM.
  • Experience managing consultants, systems integrators, and software contracts against scope and budget.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise systems strategy and the multi-year roadmap across the portfolio (ERP, MES, QMS, WMS, CRM, HRIS, PLM/PDM, procurement, finance, and project controls), and hold the requirements and priorities for each major system until it has a product owner.
  • Lead platform selection with the program manager and architect, running requirements, vendor evaluation, and fit-gap analysis against the compliance gates, negotiating commercial terms, and carrying the recommendation to leadership for decision.
  • Set the data governance rules across the portfolio, including the system-of-record decision for each data domain and the data-quality baseline that gates migration.
  • Decide where each system and data set is hosted across environments of differing data sensitivity, and how data crosses between controlled and uncontrolled environments, designing to the determinations Legal and Export Control make.
  • Build and lead the team, defining the roles, hiring and onboarding across product, program management, engineering, analysis, and administration, and setting the technical and documentation standards they work to.
  • Deliver the systems the license basis depends on, with Quality, Regulatory, and Configuration Management, including the QMS build and the document-control, records, and configuration-baseline capabilities.
  • Report portfolio status, risk, and options to your manager and the stakeholder departments on a regular cadence, and own the enterprise-systems mitigation tasks on the company risk register.
  • Lead the build of the interim systems and internal tooling the business needs before a commercial platform covers the capability, setting the requirements and the technical direction and keeping them running until it does.
