About The Position

The Enterprise Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, technical support, integration, performance, and continuous improvement of the company’s enterprise application portfolio, including IFS (ERP), SugarCRM, the home-grown GURU system (engineering/PLM/CAD integrations), other line-of-business applications, and associated databases and middleware. This role acts as an internal systems subject-matter expert, managing system configuration, user and permission administration, integrations, monitoring, incident resolution, upgrades/migrations (e.g., IFS Applications 9 → IFS Cloud), reporting, backups, security controls, and vendor coordination.

Requirements

  • Prior experience supporting IFS Applications, IFS Cloud, or a comparable enterprise ERP platform required.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or cloud migrations, including testing, end-user support, and data validation.
  • Experience working across multiple business functions such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, Quality, or Operations.
  • Experience with ERP security, user setup, permission management, reporting, and functional configuration.
  • Demonstrated experience with integrations (API, SOAP/REST, middleware, ETL), SQL and relational databases, and application monitoring tools.
  • Strong systems-administration skills across enterprise applications and supporting infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with SQL, relational DB concepts, and basic DBA tasks (indexing, query tuning, backups/restores).
  • Familiarity with APIs, integration patterns, middleware, and data exchange between systems.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and recommend practical system improvements that align with operational needs and ERP best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve both functional and system-related issues promptly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create training documents, process documentation, and end-user instructions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support requests in a dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in system setup, testing, reporting, and documentation.
  • This position may require a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant ERP experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years administering enterprise applications (ERP/CRM/PLM/LOB) and related databases in a manufacturing/engineering environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts preferred.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors, implementation partners, or ERP consultants preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical and functional administrator for multiple enterprise systems (IFS, SugarCRM, GURU, PLM/CAD connectors like CATIA integrations, and other LOB applications).
  • Manage system administration activities: user/accounts and permissions, role-based access, environment provisioning (dev/test/prod), configuration, patches, and version upgrades.
  • Lead and support platform migrations and major upgrades (including IFS Cloud migration): plan, coordinate testing (UAT/regression), perform validation/data reconciliation, resolve issues, and stabilize post-go-live.
  • Design, implement, and maintain integrations between enterprise systems and backend services (APIs, middleware, ETL, message queues), working with infrastructure and DB teams to ensure reliability.
  • Monitor application and database performance, perform tuning and capacity planning, and implement alerting/observability for SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve functional and technical application issues, including collaboration with IT, network, infrastructure, DBAs, and external vendors/implementation partners.
  • Administer databases and support SQL troubleshooting, data loads/migrations, data integrity, and ad-hoc data requests; coordinate backups and recovery procedures.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and audit/compliance controls for change management and security requirements.
  • Create and support operational and management reporting (built-in reporting tools, SQL-based reports, dashboards) and support users with report development.
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, or similar) for routine administration, deployments, and health checks.
  • Provide end-user support, training materials, and knowledge transfer for multiple systems to improve adoption and reduce incidents.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and implementation partners on enhancements, escalations, and best practices.
  • Participate in IT project workstreams for application implementations, integrations, and process improvements; perform impact analysis for changes.
  • Maintain security and compliance of application environments (patching, permissions, auditing, ITAR/security clearance coordination where applicable).
