About The Position

REP is a growing fitness equipment and lifestyle brand expanding from direct-to-consumer ecommerce into an omnichannel business that includes retail showrooms, commercial and dealer customers, marketplaces, and UK and European operations. The Enterprise Solutions Architect leads the systems architecture shift needed to support these channels with consistent views of inventory, orders, products, and customers. The role defines system ownership and data mastering, shapes architecture for programs such as order management and product information management, and ensures implementation partners follow agreed designs. This senior individual-contributor role partners closely with the Engineering Manager - Shopify so the commerce platform and supporting systems—including NetSuite, warehouse and transportation management, and integrations—develop as a cohesive architecture. It also serves as a senior systems partner to channel, operations, and finance leaders, translating business problems into target-state and functional designs with clear options, costs, and trade-offs. The role has a dotted-line relationship with the Director of Data & AI and works alongside the NetSuite Platform Architect and IT Project Manager. It has no day-to-day support or ticket queue and does not manage people. The position is based at REP’s headquarters in a hybrid work environment, with at least three days in the office and flexibility in which days and hours. Travel is up to 15%, including retail locations, U.S. distribution centers, partner workshops, and occasional trips to UK and European operations.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in enterprise business systems, including at least 4 years in an architecture role spanning multiple systems.
  • Industry experience at an omnichannel consumer products company selling directly online alongside retail, wholesale, B2B, or marketplace channels.
  • Ecommerce experience, including architecture decisions connecting an ecommerce platform to order, inventory, product, and customer systems.
  • Experience serving as the in-house, client-side architect during selection and implementation of at least one major system: order management, ERP, warehouse management, or product information management.
  • Knowledge of omnichannel retail architecture, including order management and orchestration, distributed inventory and available-to-promise, point of sale, ecommerce, B2B commerce, and marketplace integration.
  • Ecommerce platform architecture experience.
  • Knowledge of omnichannel operating models such as buy online, pick up in store; ship-from-store; endless aisle; cross-channel returns; and unified inventory and available-to-promise.
  • Knowledge of order-to-cash, warehouse fulfillment, product data, and financial close processes.
  • Knowledge of system selection and implementation methods and vendor and systems-integrator governance.
  • Experience with integration platforms such as Celigo, Boomi, Workato, or MuleSoft, or similar; REST APIs; and event-driven and batch integration patterns.
  • Experience with data modeling and master data management for product, customer, inventory, and order data.
  • Experience with architecture diagramming and modeling tools such as Lucidchart or draw.io, and Jira and Confluence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Shopify or Shopify Plus architecture experience, focused on platform, app, and integration design rather than development.
  • NetSuite experience.
  • Experience with order management, warehouse management, and product information management platforms.
  • Experience guiding a company’s transition from single-channel ecommerce to omnichannel.
  • TOGAF or comparable certification.
  • C4 or ArchiMate notation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the target architecture for an omnichannel model spanning web, retail, commercial and dealer, marketplace, and international channels, including system capability ownership and data mastering.
  • Partner with the Engineering Manager - Shopify to design the commerce platform and operational systems as one architecture; jointly own the boundary between them, including order flow, inventory availability, and product and customer data.
  • Lead discovery with channel, operations, and finance leaders and translate business needs into target-state and functional designs, presenting options, costs, and trade-offs.
  • Set architecture and acceptance criteria for partner-delivered programs such as order management and product information management, including cross-channel scenarios; review deliverables and accept or return designs before build begins.
  • Define integration patterns and data mastering rules, including standards for single-system add-ons, in alignment with the Director of Data & AI.
  • Maintain a register of systems and integrations so new channels use shared foundations rather than separate integrations.
  • Lead technical fit assessments for new systems and vendors, working with the IT Manager on security review and the Director of Global IT on commercial terms.
  • Provide the architecture perspective for the IT systems roadmap, review NetSuite and commerce platform roadmaps quarterly for consistency with the target state, and document architecture decisions and rationale.
  • Travel up to 15% to retail locations, U.S. distribution centers, partner workshops, and occasionally UK and European operations.
