About The Position

Grant Thornton is seeking an ERP Global Finance Process Lead to document global accounting processes and procedures, support SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation activities, develop and execute finance testing and transactional data validation, and identify gaps between legacy general ledger environments and SAP S/4HANA global processes. The role serves as a liaison among Accounting, Finance, IT, and implementation partners to ensure accounting requirements are designed, tested, documented, and deployed.

The position works across multiple international regions and legal entities to analyze current accounting procedures, define future-state processes aligned with global SAP templates and Grant Thornton policies, and support compliance with local statutory reporting. It also supports testing, data conversion validation, issue resolution, risk and control assessment, cutover, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization.

The position follows the firm’s hybrid work model and requires in-person attendance at least three days per week at a Grant Thornton office or client site. The base salary range is $120,000 to $207,000. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and firm performance. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of global accounting process management experience.
• At least 2 years of hands-on SAP financial systems experience.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Intercompany, and Financial Close processes.
• Experience writing SOPs, business process documentation, and control narratives.
• Experience in multiple-entity or global accounting environments.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• SAP S/4HANA Finance implementation experience.
• Knowledge of ERP migrations and finance transformation programs.
• Experience supporting UAT, SIT, and finance process testing.

Nice To Haves

• CPA preferred.
• Experience with ledger migrations and chart-of-accounts redesign.
• Experience with finance transformation or ERP modernization initiatives.
• Experience working with implementation partners and global process templates.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain accounting process narratives, standard operating procedures, and control documentation for SAP S/4HANA and other applicable integrated systems.
• Analyze current-state accounting procedures across international regions and legal entities, compare legacy ERP systems with SAP S/4HANA standard functionality, and identify process gaps.
• Define future-state accounting processes aligned with global SAP templates, Grant Thornton global policies, and local statutory reporting.
• Create test scenarios, scripts, and expected accounting results for Record-to-Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Sales, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, and Close processes.
• Execute finance-related User Acceptance Testing, integration testing, and business process validation.
• Validate data conversion and reconciliation results between legacy systems and SAP S/4HANA.
• Work with business stakeholders to resolve process, configuration, and reporting issues identified during testing.
• Evaluate compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and company accounting policies.
• Identify risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities during implementation.
• Support cutover, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization activities.
• Coordinate with global process owners and regional finance teams to standardize accounting procedures.
