About The Position

At Regions, the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) Program Manager serves as a strategic leader responsible for driving complex, enterprise-wide programs and initiatives that support organizational priorities and business transformation. This role works closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps. Additionally, this role provides thought leadership in designing program strategies, delivery approaches, governance frameworks, and execution plans enabling successful outcomes across parallel, interdependent projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field and nine (9) years of project, program or transformation management experience
  • Or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or related field and seven (7) years of directly related experience at a top tier consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey and Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Bain, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst and Young (EY), etc.)
  • Or High School Diploma or GED and thirteen (13) years of project, program or transformation management experience
  • Experience leading large-scale, enterprise-wide strategic initiatives involving multiple business units and technology teams
  • Proven success leading cross functional teams through ambiguity, organizational change, and complex decision making
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a concise, compelling, and business-focused manner
  • Broad understanding of enterprise technology platforms, infrastructure, software delivery, data management, cyber security, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Deep understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, software development life cycle (SDLC), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and hybrid delivery models
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate vision into executable plans and measurable business outcomes
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to engage, influence, and build credibility with senior leaders and executives
  • Expertise in dependency management, resource planning, roadmap development, governance, and benefit realization
  • Expertise in program and project management methodologies and practices
  • Familiarity with project portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Proven ability to influence decisions and drive alignment across all levels or the organization without direct authority
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and highly complex initiatives with significant organizational impact
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology initiatives to organizational objectives and value creation
  • Understanding of risk management, governance, compliance, and regulatory environments within financial services

Nice To Haves

  • Applicable certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Agilist, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Provides thought leadership and leads complex programs and strategic initiatives consisting of multiple interrelated projects designed to achieve significant business and organizational objectives
  • Translates strategic priorities into integrated program plans, roadmaps, governance structures, performance measures, and execution frameworks
  • Coordinates and aligns activities across business units, technology organizations, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful program execution and delivery of expected outcomes
  • Leads the identification, management, and resolution of cross-functional dependencies, resource constraints, competing priorities, and execution challenges that impact program success
  • Monitors program performance through key metrics, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and business outcome measures, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts
  • Establishes and maintain effective governance processes, reporting frameworks, operating rhythms, and decision-making structures to support program oversight and accountability
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders by providing program insights, risk assessments, strategic recommendations, and execution guidance
  • Develops and delivers executive-level communications, presentations, dashboards, and briefings to support informed decision-making and stakeholder alignment
  • Leads business and technology transformation initiatives, including digital transformation efforts, technology modernization, operational improvements, process redesign, and organizational change programs
  • Partners with leadership teams to define future-state capabilities, implementation strategies, and success measures that deliver measurable business value
  • Assesses, mitigates, and escalates complex program risks and issues while facilitating timely decision-making and resolution across stakeholder groups
  • Drives organizational readiness, change management, adoption, and benefit realization activities to support sustainable program outcomes
  • Ensures compliance with governance requirements, risk management programs, cyber security standards, regulatory obligations, and organizational policies
  • Mentors and provides guidance to project managers, program team members, and stakeholders while promoting consistent delivery practices and operational excellence
  • Champions continuous improvement initiatives that enhance program management methodologies, governance processes, stakeholder engagement, and organizational effectiveness
