About The Position

This role oversees and directs a technical team responsible for designing, administering, and supporting the department’s core enterprise infrastructure systems, ensuring reliable operations and alignment with strategic goals. It involves supervising and developing staff, managing workloads, optimizing workflows, and implementing policy and procedural improvements. The position serves as a subject matter expert, leads infrastructure solution development, coordinates cross-functional problem‑solving, and supports strategic initiatives through research, project participation, and translating business requirements into effective infrastructure designs.

Requirements

Knowledge of Information Technology procedures, concepts and techniques.
Knowledge of general personnel and hiring procedures.
Knowledge of State of Florida procurement methods, rules, and practices.
Knowledge of the administrative and technical components of Active Directory.
Knowledge of current Windows Operating Systems.
Knowledge of Identity Management and Security Processes.
Skilled in developing plans for testing and implementation.
Ability to lead, manage, supervise, motivate and work with different teams
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize, assign and oversee work assignments for project team members
Ability to develop project schedules and accurate time estimates for timely completion of project deliverables
Ability to relate to customers’ needs and perform duties in a service oriented manner
Ability to interpret and communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

Supervises, plans, directs, and coordinates the work of the assigned section and staff members. Spends the majority of their time supervising, communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work, and has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action.
Leads, manages, and provides technical oversight for the team responsible for the design, administration, and support of the Department’s core enterprise infrastructure systems.
Coordinates and directs the staff activities to ensure continuity of operations, system reliability, and increased productivity across all managed enterprise platforms.
Directs the development and documentation of business-aligned infrastructure solutions that support defined operational outcomes and strategic goals. This includes leading and coordinating the design, documentation, and testing of these solutions.
Serves as a departmental subject matter expert (SME) or technical resource concerning the operation, enhancement, and strategic direction of the assigned enterprise infrastructure systems.
Analyzes organizational workflow, assigns, and approves work schedules to meet established priorities, project deadlines, and operational goals.
Analyzes internal processes, policies, and plans and recommends or implements procedural and policy changes to improve operations, efficiency, and system security.
Meets with managers, supervisors, business partners, vendors, and technical staff to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical or operational problems.
Develop and implement corrective action plans to restore service or mitigate risk.
Assists management with strategic activities, including research relating to information technology strategic objectives, preparation and review of project progress reports, and development of methods and practices documentation.
Consults with customers, management, and technical staff to determine and validate system requirements and specifications.
Actively participates as a core project work team member on projects involving the assigned infrastructure to ensure designed services maximize benefits while managing cost and risk.
Works closely with Technical Staff, Project Managers, and other Subject Matter Experts to translate business system requirements into actionable infrastructure design and supports the development of a strong business case.
