About The Position

Piper Companies is hiring an Enterprise Architect to design secure, scalable, and automated network architectures for a leading federal IT provider. This full-time, remote role will lead strategy, design, and implementation across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Requirements

• ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE required
• IAT level II Certification required
• Bachelor's in CS, IT, or related field
• 7+ years in network architecture/engineering.
• Expertise in enterprise-grade networks (on-prem, cloud, hybrid).
• Strong knowledge of protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, SD-WAN).
• Hands-on with automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform).
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• IaC and DevOps methodologies.
• Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications: CCNP preferred, CCIE preferred; DevNet a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate client requirements into tailored network architecture solutions.
• Assess and optimize infrastructure for scalability, resiliency, and security.
• Design and document enterprise network architectures.
• Lead deployments and ensure alignment with best practices.
• Drive network automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, Terraform, Python).
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for network infrastructure.
• Standardize architectures and create reusable templates.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and vendors.
• Mentor teams on automation and emerging technologies (SDN, SASE, Zero Trust).
• Troubleshoot complex network and automation issues.
• 15-25% travel required
