  • 5+ years’ experience in enterprise, data, information, and/or solution architecture roles within complex environments.
  • Proven experience operating in a federated architecture model, balancing enterprise stewardship with embedded delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience designing enterprise data architectures where data domains, data products, data models, metadata, lineage, access controls, and ownership are clearly defined and governed.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, quantify, and manage data architecture risk, including data duplication, inconsistent definitions, poor data quality, weak lineage, unclear ownership, and fragmented analytical platforms.
  • Practical experience with data warehouse and lakehouse architecture patterns, including ingestion, transformation, curated data layers, semantic modelling, data marts, open table formats, and fit-for-purpose consumption patterns for BI, analytics, and AI use cases.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries, with working knowledge of security, risk, and compliance expectations.
  • Strong decision-making and trade-off analysis skills (risk, cost, time-to-market, resiliency).
  • Experience designing scalable, secure, and resilient data platforms across cloud, SaaS, and on-premises environments, including modern integration patterns such as APIs, event-driven data flows, streaming, batch processing, and governed data sharing.
  • Strong understanding of how data quality, metadata, lineage, master and reference data, lifecycle state, privacy, and security controls intersect, and ability to translate these relationships into measurable architecture metrics and governance practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Architecture, data management, and/or cloud certifications such as TOGAF, CDMP, DAMA-DMBOK, AWS, Azure, or equivalent are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Architecture Strategy Centre of Excellence by stewarding enterprise-wide data architecture direction, including data domains, canonical models, integration patterns, semantic standards, and reusable data products.
  • Establish architecture metrics and guardrails for data quality, data lineage, metadata completeness, ownership, access controls, retention, and standards compliance across warehouse and lakehouse environments.
  • Identify systemic data risks such as duplicate datasets, inconsistent definitions, weak lineage, poor data quality, unclear ownership, and unmanaged sensitive data, then partner with domain, product, and delivery leaders to prioritize remediation.
  • Lead and participate in architecture reviews, peer assessments, and governance forums to ensure data solutions align with enterprise standards, privacy and security expectations, regulatory requirements, data residency considerations, and resiliency needs.
  • Document and socialize data reference architectures, modelling standards, ingestion and integration patterns, lakehouse zones, warehouse marts, semantic layer guidance, and data product lifecycle practices.
