  • Expert-level knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, cybersecurity, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience assessing DR readiness, defining RTO/RPO requirements, identifying recovery risks, and developing resilient disaster recovery architectures.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure; AWS experience is secondary.
  • Experience with on-premises infrastructure, hybrid-cloud environments, and enterprise infrastructure modernization.
  • Experience assessing current-state environments and developing future-state architecture recommendations.
  • Knowledge of secure remote access, perimeter defense, network segmentation, and infrastructure security principles.
  • Experience with enterprise storage, backup, recovery, and data protection solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, identity architecture, infrastructure dependencies, and service ownership.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring, observability, incident detection, and service recovery.

  • Experience establishing RACI matrices, service ownership models, and cross-functional operating responsibilities.
  • Government or public-sector IT experience.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud architecture, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, or enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity architecture initiatives, including solutions for mission-critical facilities such as 911 operations and backup sites.

  • Assess and document current-state enterprise IT architecture across on-premises data centers, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Develop future-state enterprise architecture recommendations to improve infrastructure resiliency, cybersecurity, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct technical reviews of enterprise systems and produce architecture documentation, including system topologies, data flow diagrams, network dependency matrices, and service catalogs.
  • Shape secure remote access and perimeter defense architecture with cybersecurity and network teams.
  • Guide network segmentation initiatives and the retirement of legacy network overlays.
  • Partner with domain administrators to improve Active Directory and identity architecture, clarify service ownership, and define RACI roles and responsibilities for core services.
  • Evaluate enterprise storage, backup, recovery, archival, and data retention capabilities, including Rubrik, NetApp, and cloud storage platforms; identify gaps and conduct proof-of-concepts to reduce cost and risk.
  • Assess observability and monitoring architecture, including AppDynamics, and collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to improve issue detection, incident response, and recovery.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions and workshops across infrastructure, cloud, database, desktop, security, network, and agency teams to gather requirements and align on solutions.
