Enterprise Architect - Managed Services

Tusker•Green Bay, WI
•$115,000

About The Position

Tusker is seeking an Enterprise Architect to serve as the senior technical voice in its sales process. This consultative pre-sales role connects client needs, sales strategy, and delivery capabilities to design practical, profitable managed services solutions across infrastructure, cloud, networking, endpoints, identity, and security. It is not a quota-carrying sales position or a delivery architecture role. The Enterprise Architect leads discovery, shapes solutions, communicates value to technical and executive stakeholders, guides opportunities through procurement, and ensures a smooth transition to delivery. Success is reflected in managed services bookings, technical win rates, accurate and profitable scoping, high-quality proposal responses, and strong client and account-team feedback.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, or security, including at least 3 years in pre-sales, solution architecture, or consulting.
  • Direct managed services experience, including service catalogs, SLAs, per-user or per-device pricing, and cost-to-serve considerations.
  • Hands-on depth in most of the following: Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, virtualization, LAN/WAN/SD-WAN, firewalls, network security, endpoint management such as Intune, backup and disaster recovery, and EDR/MDR or SIEM platforms.
  • Ability to lead credible conversations with engineers, IT leaders, and executives.
  • Strong writing skills across proposals, architecture documents, and executive summaries.
  • Ability to travel regularly for in-person client engagement throughout the territory.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an MSP, MSSP, VAR, or systems integrator.
  • Knowledge of AV, unified communications, or collaboration technologies.
  • Experience in manufacturing, healthcare, or insurance.
  • Exposure to CMMC, HIPAA, PCI DSS, or NIST CSF.
  • Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, CISSP, TOGAF, or similar certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and current-state assessments across infrastructure, network, cloud, endpoint, identity, and security.
  • Design managed services solutions involving NOC/SOC coverage, Microsoft 365 and Azure operations, endpoint and server management, networking, backup and disaster recovery, and security operations.
  • Right-size solution scope to align client risk tolerance with delivery economics.
  • Identify project work needed before or alongside a managed services engagement.
  • Partner with Account Executives from qualification through close and own the technical narrative.
  • Build business cases using total cost of ownership, cost-to-serve, risk reduction, and outcome-focused messaging.
  • Lead executive presentations and whiteboard sessions, address objections, and set realistic expectations.
  • Support account growth through roadmaps, technology business reviews, and expansion opportunities.
  • Own technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, security questionnaires, and compliance requests.
  • Define scope, assumptions, exclusions, and service levels to support accurate pricing and clean statements of work.
  • Partner with practice leaders and finance to validate delivery feasibility and margin.
  • Lead the transition from sale to delivery, documenting assumptions, dependencies, and expectations.
  • Share field insights, improve reusable solution content, and mentor emerging architects.
