About The Position

GDIT has an exciting opportunity to support the Security Assistance Group - Ukraine (SAG-U) as a member of our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s (USAREUR-AF) mission in Wiesbaden, Germany. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT The Enterprise Architect supports the J6’s vision of the current and future-state architecture of IT systems, networks, and processes under J6 ownership. Operating within the J65 Plans and Engineering Division, this role bridges the gap between mission-driven process design and technical implementation, translating organizational process frameworks into coherent, defensible architecture and ensuring that every system, service, and change fits within an intentional enterprise-wide design. You will own the architectural backbone of one of the most complex and operationally critical IT environments in the European theater. SAG-U J6 manages multiple classified and above-baseline networks. Own and maintain the SAG-U J6 enterprise architecture baseline across all managed domains, producing and sustaining DoDAF-compliant architecture views including OV-1, OV-5, SV-1, SV-2, and SV-6 Develop and maintain the J6 technology roadmap and target architecture, identifying capability gaps, obsolescence risks, and investment priorities aligned to SAG-U mission evolution and USAREUR-AF strategic objectives Govern architecture compliance across the project portfolio and change management process: all projects entering J65 and changes entering the Change Advisory Board (CAB) will be evaluated against the target architecture for alignment, risk, and technical debt impact Serve as the primary architecture advisor to J6 leadership, providing technically grounded recommendations on system integration, enclave expansion, cross-domain solutions, and coalition connectivity Own the system-of-systems view for J6-managed infrastructure — defining system boundaries, interfaces, dependencies, and data flows across physical and virtual layers — and ensuring all documentation is accurate, current, and accessible to engineering and operations teams Partner with J62 Cybersecurity to deliver the architecture artifacts required to support and accelerate RMF/ATO processes for all J6-owned systems, including system security plans, boundary diagrams, and control inheritance documentation Drive technical standardization and pattern adoption across J6 engineering efforts, reducing rework, simplifying sustainment, and shortening accreditation timelines through reusable architecture components Provide architectural review of engineering deliverables and project transition packages to ensure new capabilities integrate cleanly into the operational baseline before operational handoff Coordinate with USAREUR-AF G6, EUCOM ECJ6, 2d Theater Signal Brigade, DISA, and coalition partners on enterprise-level architecture alignment, transport planning, and cross-enclave integration Establish and maintain an architecture governance framework within J65, including an architecture review process and a living standards catalog May require coverage during weekends and holidays WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT.
