About The Position

Enterprise Applications Architect is responsible for defining, maintaining, and evolving the enterprise applications architecture strategy and roadmap, aligned with business goals and IT transformation initiatives. This role acts as a technology thought leader for enterprise platforms, ensuring architectural consistency, scalability, security, and performance. The architect provides architectural oversight for major initiatives and ensures compliance with enterprise standards and reference architectures. They participate in architecture review boards and guide solution design across projects. A core focus is on SAP Architecture & Enablement, serving as a senior architecture authority for SAP landscapes including SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SAP BTP, SAP Analytics, SAP Integration Suite, and MuleSoft. The role leads the integration of SAP S/4HANA with MES platforms, PLM systems, CRM, EDI, legacy ERPs, and cloud services, while guiding the reduction of custom code and promoting the adoption of SAP standard capabilities. Additionally, the architect defines and governs enterprise integration patterns, designs and oversees end-to-end application integration, and leads business process mapping and application rationalization initiatives. They also architect and support an enterprise data strategy, including master data, analytics, and enterprise data platforms, and collaborate on data governance, data quality, and information lifecycle management. The role establishes and enforces architecture principles, standards, and reference architectures, mentors other architects and development teams, and collaborates effectively with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners. Support for ServiceNow ITSM and ITBM usage for application lifecycle and service management is also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture or equivalent roles in complex, global environments.
  • Extensive SAP expertise is mandatory, with architecture-level understanding of SAP ERP landscapes.
  • Proven experience integrating SAP with MES, PLM, legacy ERP, and cloud platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise integration technologies and patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience in process mapping, application rationalization, and system consolidation.
  • Solid understanding of application lifecycle management, security, and compliance.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in distributed, multicultural teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with R&D processes and PLM rationalization is a plus.
  • SAP Certifications (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Architecture, SAP Technology Associate, SAP BTP).
  • TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and microservices architectures.
  • Executive-level presentation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into pragmatic, scalable technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior architecture authority for SAP landscapes, including SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SAP BTP, SAP Analytics, SAP Integration Suite, and MuleSoft.
  • Lead the integration of SAP S/4HANA with MES platforms, PLM systems, CRM, EDI, legacy ERPs (e.g., JDE, Avante, Epicor), and cloud services.
  • Guide reduction of custom code and promote adoption of SAP standard capabilities where feasible.
  • Partner with functional, technical, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with standardized business processes.
  • Define and govern enterprise integration patterns (API-led, event-driven, middleware-based).
  • Design and oversee end-to-end application integration using platforms such as SAP BTP and MuleSoft.
  • Ensure resilient, secure, and scalable integrations in collaboration with infrastructure and security teams.
  • Lead business process mapping initiatives to identify redundancies, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Drive application rationalization, consolidation, and modernization, including system sunsetting and SaaS adoption.
  • Ensure applications are aligned to end-to-end business capabilities and value streams.
  • Architect and support an enterprise data strategy, including master data, analytics, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Collaborate on data governance, data quality, and information lifecycle management.
  • Enable advanced analytics, reporting, and future AI/ML use cases through strong data foundations.
  • Establish and enforce architecture principles, standards, and reference architectures.
  • Mentor solution and domain architects, development teams, and delivery partners on architectural best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners across regions.
  • Support ServiceNow ITSM and ITBM usage for application lifecycle and service management.
