About The Position

This internship provides hands-on experience in the insurance industry, specifically within Great American Insurance Group's Business Data & Analytics (BDA) division. The Enterprise Analytics Intern will support the development and delivery of reporting, dashboards, and data-driven insights to aid business leaders in decision-making. The role involves working with enterprise data, analytics tools, and cross-functional teams to transform data into actionable business recommendations. Interns will gain exposure to reporting, customer analytics, predictive modeling, and enterprise data management, building technical and business skills in a collaborative environment. The company fosters a "small company" culture with "big company" expertise, emphasizing inclusivity and diverse backgrounds. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Field of Study: Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline
  • Available to work full time during Summer 2027, beginning May 18th

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of data analysis concepts and metrics
  • Experience working with structured data sets or databases
  • Introductory SQL or querying experience
  • Familiarity with gathering requirements and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving, attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
  • Strong communication skills and an interest in enterprise-level analytics and decision support

Responsibilities

  • Support the Enterprise Analytics team in developing and delivering analytics solutions, including reporting, dashboards, measurement strategies, and digital analytics initiatives.
  • Help test and validate reporting solutions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and production readiness.
  • Collaborate with analytics, technology, and business partners to understand data requirements and translate them into analytic solutions.
  • Document processes and procedures necessary to support our products.
  • Apply best practices related to data quality, documentation, and analytics standards.
  • Build foundational business and data domain knowledge across enterprise functions.
  • Independently complete assigned tasks while receiving guidance and mentorship from the analytics team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of enterprise analytics initiatives.
  • Support digital and behavioral analytics initiatives in defining business objectives and measurement approaches.
