About The Position

This summer internship is tailored for college students entering their senior year who are interested in pursuing a career in the insurance industry. Interns will receive training in our product lines and gain exposure to real-world underwriting practices. This position is an in-office role located in Madison, WI or West Bend, WI. No remote opportunities for this position are available at this time.

Nice To Haves

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably Risk Management & Insurance, Business or Math (rising senior status in Summer of 2026 is highly preferred)

Responsibilities

Assist in operations such as quoting new business, processing renewals, and contributing to various underwriting projects that impact profitability.
Gain a broad view of the organization through cross-functional experiences with departments such as Claims, Loss Control, Accounting and Sales.
Job shadowing with experienced underwriters to observe territory management and book-building strategies.
Field visits with Loss Control specialists to understand risk evaluation in diverse business environments.
Agency interactions to learn how underwriting decisions align with agent relationships and submissions.
Participate in professional development through mentoring, Capstone presentation and feedback sessions that highlight your internship journey and impact.
