About The Position

Cogent is seeking an Enterprise Account Executive to manage the entire sales cycle for major enterprise accounts in the Mid-Atlantic region. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the territory, acquiring new clients, growing existing customer accounts, and positioning Cogent as a key partner in AI and cybersecurity. This role is ideal for a cybersecurity sales professional with deep knowledge of the local market, existing relationships with CISOs, and the capability to manage both technical assessments and high-level business discussions. This is a remote position, based within the Mid-Atlantic territory.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years in B2B quota-carrying sales.
  • At least 5 years of experience specifically in cybersecurity sales.
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct sales experience with large enterprises.
  • A proven history of exceeding sales quotas and closing complex deals valued at six figures or spanning multiple years, often competing against established players.
  • Established relationships with CISOs and security decision-makers in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently generate sales pipeline.
  • Technical understanding of security, cloud, and AI concepts.
  • Ability to articulate product value and translate it into executive-level Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Experience in high-growth or challenger company environments.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the territory and surpass new Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and expansion targets within large enterprise accounts.
  • Develop sales pipeline through direct outbound efforts, cultivating executive relationships, collaborating with channel partners, leveraging marketing initiatives, and generating referrals.
  • Formulate account strategies and engage with multiple stakeholders, including CISOs, security and IT teams, procurement departments, and executive sponsors.
  • Guide technical evaluations, construct quantifiable business cases, negotiate terms, and finalize intricate, multi-year contracts.
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales Engineering, Product, Customer Success teams, and partners, while ensuring precise forecasting and up-to-date CRM data.
