Enterprise Account Executive, AMER

Semarchy,
$140,000 - $150,000Remote

About The Position

Semarchy helps enterprises master, govern, and put their data to work through a unified Data Platform spanning Master Data Management, data quality, and data governance, deployable natively inside Snowflake or as SaaS. Our customers use Semarchy to bring order to data spread across dozens of systems and turn it into something they can trust for reporting, operations, and AI. We're hiring an Account Executive for our AMER Enterprise team. You'll own a full-cycle book of business, from qualifying inbound and self-sourced pipeline through discovery, solution development, demo, negotiation, and close. Our deals are consultative and multi-stakeholder: you're rarely selling to one person, and the technical conversation is usually a proxy for a business one underneath it. Ownership doesn't end at signature. You'll build the account plan, hand off cleanly to Professional Services and Customer Success, and come back in to lead the commercial conversation when it's time to expand, renew, or move an existing customer onto our newly upgraded platform.

Requirements

  • A track record closing complex, multi-stakeholder software deals, ideally in data, analytics, or platform categories.
  • Comfort running a structured sales process while staying present and conversational. The framework should make the conversation feel more natural, not scripted.
  • Directness balanced with warmth. You can name a stalled buy-in or an unrealistic timeline out loud, in a way that keeps the relationship intact.
  • Genuine curiosity about the prospect's business, not just their tech stack. You ask a second and third “why,” and you're comfortable letting a call go somewhere your outline didn't predict.
  • Coachability. You take feedback, apply it, and can name your own gaps before someone else does.
  • A collaborative style, especially with your SC. You don't need deep technical fluency on day one; you need the instinct to loop your SC in early and work the deal together, not around them. You also bring in deal desk, partners, and leadership early.
  • Ownership. You flag a deal risk before it becomes a surprise, and you show up with a plan alongside it.
  • Judgment about where your time goes. With a growing book, you know which two or three accounts genuinely need you this week and protect the rest of your time for the next deal.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into Snowflake or Databricks ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with MDM, data governance, or data quality, or the track record to get there fast.
  • Experience competing against vendors like Informatica or Reltio.

Responsibilities

  • Build pipeline. Generate and qualify opportunities through inbound requests, closed-lost revisits, referrals, and your own outbound.
  • Keep Salesforce and Gong current as deals move, not just at quarter-end, so your forecast holds up two months out.
  • Run discovery that gets past the ticket. Uncover the prospect's high-level company goals, bring company and industry context into the call, and get past the technical and personal pain to the real organizational stakes: what happens if nothing changes, and why that matters to the business.
  • Multi-thread the deal. Identify who else needs to be in the room and bring them in deliberately, rather than waiting for the prospect to volunteer them.
  • Shape the solution. Understand what the prospect thinks they need, and know when to introduce a requirement they haven't asked for yet, whether that's a related module or the specific reason we're the better fit against the alternative they're evaluating.
  • Partner with your SC on a demo that sells the pain, not the feature. Own the value narrative and coordinate the technical demo with your Solutions Consultant, who leads it. Tie what's shown back to what the prospect named in discovery, and give your SC the lead time they need to prep, especially when a demo gets booked with less than a day's notice.
  • Negotiate a real plan. Know which agreement you need next given where the deal actually is, and leave every call with a specific next step, a date, and a named owner on both sides.
  • Build a business case your champion can carry into their own organization, tied to the financial and operational impact you uncovered together.
  • Manage the process to close, tracking the paper, security review, and approvals that sit between a verbal yes and a signature.
  • Own the account plan and the handoff. Build the plan for your named accounts, lead a clean handoff to Professional Services and Customer Success at close, and stay the commercial owner for expansion, renewal, and platform-transition conversations in your book.
