About The Position

This role is for a student position at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. The student will be responsible for managing equipment, assisting faculty and students, maintaining the ensemble library, and supporting various departmental needs. This position requires the student to be enrolled at least half-time, have a valid US Social Security Number, maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (with an exception for first-semester students), be in good disciplinary standing, and be located in the U.S.

Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program (with summer exception for pre-registered fall students).
  • Valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Valid Visa status as applicable.
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (first-semester students are exempt until completion of their first semester).
  • Federal Work Study students may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Signing out equipment, opening cabinets, and providing special gear needs such as vibraphones, percussion instruments, microphone boxes, and keyboards to classrooms.
  • Assisting faculty members with any class needs throughout the day, including music copying and library access.
  • Delivering mail to and from the ensemble office.
  • Daily inventory of room conditions and equipment, including music stands and chairs count, general tidiness of rooms, and physical plant work order requests.
  • Maintenance of the ensemble department library.
  • Posting class cancellation notices.
  • Providing access to students for rehearsals at night and on weekends, monitoring the equipment in the rooms during that time, and acting as a liaison between students and the Ensemble Department staff.
  • Assisting with ensemble auditions ratings sign-up during the week before Midterms and the week before Finals.
  • Performing various projects as deemed necessary by the ensemble department staff members.
