About The Position

Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of seventy-five employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need. Food & Friends is proud to be a nationally-recognized leader of the Food is Medicine movement. We seek an Enrollment Coordinator to conduct outreach to prospective clients and enroll them in our medically-tailored meals program. Reporting to the Strategic Partnerships Director, the Enrollment Coordinator will: In 2025, the readers of the Washington City Paper voted Food & Friends Washington’s Best Nonprofit. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone to deepen their social services experience in a growing and well-regarded organization. Must be willing to work on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach to individuals using lists of names and contact information provided by referral partners
  • Prepare and mail outreach letters to prospective participants explaining program benefits and enrollment steps
  • Call eligible participants to enroll them into the medically-tailored meals program and answer any questions that they may have
  • Accurately track, collect, and document required participant information
  • Enter all client data, outreach attempts, and enrollment details into client database
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records in compliance with HIPAA privacy standards
