About The Position

The Coordinator of Dual Enrollment and Secondary Programs directly oversees the day-to-day operations of VCU’s dual enrollment and high school enrollment programs, providing high school students with the opportunity to enroll in college courses at VCU. This position will build partnerships with high schools, community organizations, and the college’s academic and student services divisions; onboard and support prospective and current dual enrollment students; deliver presentations to inform both internal and external stakeholders about the benefits of dual enrollment; cultivate relationships with new dual enrollment partners and relevant stakeholders; maintain student data and records; and work collaboratively with Academic Affairs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders and work with people at all levels within an organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with evidence of managing multiple projects simultaneously, implementing effective tracking methods, and providing leadership with new initiatives.
  • Ability to design and implement programs tailored to high school students.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field
  • Experience with dual enrollment administration or providing coaching and academic guidance to high school students or prospective college students.
  • Experience working with high school students, parents, teachers, and administrators
  • Experience utilizing Navigate and PeopleSoft or other student information systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate VCU dual enrollment program (50%)
  • Coordinate Dual Enrollment Applications, registrations, and onboarding processes with Admissions and the Registrar
  • Serve as primary contact for school divisions, university operational offices, and community partners involved in dual enrollment
  • Monitor enrollment, student outcomes, and program impact
  • Provide advising and enrollment assistance for DE students, parents, and school partners
  • Assist with professional development/orientation sessions for high school students at partnering schools
  • Meet with parents, students and school counselors at the high school or on campus to assist with program placing students and monitoring program progress.
  • Drive the promotion and enrollment growth of secondary programs (20%)
  • Maintain and expand dual enrollment offerings, working to increase enrollments, headcount, and full time enrollment at VCU following high school graduation
  • Update website and marketing materials
  • Develop and facilitate informational webinars and in-person presentations.
  • Deliver presentations, workshops, and informational sessions, with the ability to clearly articulate complex educational concepts.
  • Develop and execute programming for relevant audiences
  • Work collaboratively to establish Summer enrollment opportunities for high school students
  • Manage current and new partnerships with dual enrollment high schools and districts (15%)
  • Sends regular reminders and communications to partners regarding grades, add/drop/withdrawals deadlines, and reporting requirements
  • Responsible for developing annual dual enrollment contracts for each DE partner
  • Provide timely support to dual enrollment partners, instructors, and students
  • Special Advanced Scholars (10%)
  • In collaboration with university partners, develop a strategy to increase enrollment in Special Advanced Scholars
  • Coordinate the development of internal and external messaging for program
  • Provide enrollment assistance for Special Advanced Scholars students and parents
  • Enrollment administration of secondary programs (5%)
  • Maintain course and instructor records, databases, and communications
  • Generate enrollment and outcome reports
  • Ensure the program meets all regulatory and institutional standards and maintains compliance with SCHEV/SACSCOC
