About The Position
Jamestown Hospital and Health Service operates 24 hours a day, delivering a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and community services to the region. The service provides holistic, person-centred care across all stages of life. Services include general medical and surgical care for inpatients and outpatients, residential aged care, nurse-led clinics, palliative care services, same-day stays, planned activity groups for older people, diagnostic radiology, general surgical procedures, community bus, day therapy centres, delivered meals, health advocacy and liaison services, a birthing suite supported through shared care, childbirth and parenting education, community midwifery and postnatal home visits, and high-level residential aged care and respite services at Symonds Wing.
Requirements
- Registration or eligibility for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
- Undergo employment screening
- Meet immunisation requirements
Responsibilities
- General medical and surgical care for inpatients and outpatients, including gastroenterology, gynaecology, and obstetrics
- Residential aged care and personal care services
- Nurse-led clinics and palliative care services
- Same-day stays and planned activity groups for older people
- Diagnostic radiology and general surgical procedures
- Community bus
- Day therapy centres
- Delivered meals (Meals on Wheels)
- Health advocacy and liaison services
- Birthing suite supported through shared care with General Practitioners and community midwives
- Childbirth and parenting education
- Community midwifery and postnatal home visits
- Providing high-level residential aged care and respite services
