About The Position

New York Preschool & Kids Club is seeking a high-energy Enrichment Teacher to lead various classes for children aged 0 to 6. This generalist role involves teaching gym, music, art, STEM, and sports, as well as managing the Afternoon Club. The ideal candidate will have a strong presence, a commanding voice, and the stamina to maintain energy and structure throughout the day. Responsibilities include leading engaging classes, managing classroom behavior, facilitating smooth transitions, partnering with families, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

1 to 2+ years teaching children ages 2 to 6 (camp, pre-k, after-school, daycare, or enrichment).
Comfort leading gym and movement classes.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Stamina for an active, on-your-feet role involving movement, spotting, and performing.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Specific sensory abilities including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
Must pass a physical exam and background check.

Nice To Haves

Experience in music, dance, gymnastics, sports, or yoga.
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, or study in progress.

Responsibilities

Lead gym, movement, music, art, STEM, and sports classes for children ages 0 to 6, ensuring classes are active, structured, and fun.
Set a positive tone with a strong voice and engaging presence to keep children motivated and excited.
Observe and redirect behavior early, maintain clear expectations, and manage transitions efficiently.
Lead the Afternoon Club program, managing a mix of activities and ensuring smooth operations until pickup.
Communicate daily updates to parents regarding their child's progress and challenges.
