About The Position

The Enrichment Teacher is a part-time After School Enrichment teaching position. The program will serve over one-hundred and fifty students in Grades K-5. The position is for the school year only. The work hours (up to 10 hours per week) are Monday through Friday from 3:30pm-5:30pm. There is also a Summer Enrichment program from June 29th, 2026-July 31, 2026, from 3:30-5:30 PM Monday-Friday, with exceptions for half days, school holidays, remote workdays, and days when scholars are not in attendance.

Requirements

  • Required experience with youth in Grades K-5.
  • Familiarity with CACPCS professional standards.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Satisfactory performance in other CACPCS roles.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provides an attractive, well-kept learning environment that encourages organization, positive relationships, engagement and enjoyment and a culture of thinking and learning.
  • Develops lesson plans and activities, instructs students, maintains classroom culture and discipline, and communicates student progress or concerns to Community School Director and/or Education Coordinator.
  • Develops one club or enrichment activity of interest to scholars to implement at least once weekly.
  • Adhere to the daily schedule of activities which may include attendance-taking, snack, homework support, enrichment activities and transitions to sports, clubs, bathroom procedures, and other activities.
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers as needed.
  • Monitors student attendance by maintaining weekly attendance rosters and tracking number of days in attendance per student.
  • Provides the support and guidance necessary to each child and their family to ensure that program elements sponsored by other organizations are introduced smoothly.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance/ necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom and common use areas.
  • Assists in other activities and duties as determined by the CSD and Education Coordinator (like planning for and attending after school performances and showcases).
  • Observes all rules, professional standards and regulations of CACPCS and/or local regulatory agencies pertaining to health, safety and care of children.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
  • Support dismissal procedures to ensure safe scholar release.
  • Reinforce respectful, responsible, and safe scholar behavior, implement positive behavior supports and restorative practices.
  • Build positive relationships with scholars to support social-emotional growth.
  • Encourage scholar participation, creativity, and collaboration, foster scholar voice, leadership, and confidence.
  • Maintain active supervision of scholars at all times to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
