Requirements

  • Be of good character.
  • Have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
  • Meet the RI Paraprofessional Standards (Education and certification) or be willing to complete the requirements within 1 year of employment.
  • Hold or be able to attain Safety Care Certification within 1 year of employment, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in education or related field.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for K-8 Enrichment teachers (Art, Music, Physical Education, etc.) and other team members when they are out of the building.
  • Review and facilitate substitute lessons and provide instruction in the Classroom (K-8 Enrichment).
  • Support school-wide needs as assigned and identified by the Director/Dean of School Operations.
  • Maintain collaborative and professional communication with educators and the broader school community.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information concerning scholars and families.
  • Provide additional scholar-specific supports and assistance as outlined in their IEP.
