About The Position

The Collegiate Enrichment Academy (CEA) is a school-sponsored after-school program offering non-athletic classes for students from Early Childhood through second grade. The CEA classes follow the WCS calendar and observe the same holiday and conference schedule. Classes are offered for 13-week sessions in the Fall and Spring semesters. This part-time, commissioned role supports Collegiate Enrichment Academy chess instruction for students in grades 1-5. Working under the direction of the CEA Director, you will help students develop critical thinking, strategy, and sportsmanship. This role contributes to high-quality after-school enrichment programming on the Wichita Collegiate campus.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be available for after-school hours on the WCS campus during scheduled CEA sessions.
  • Passionate about chess.
  • Patient and enthusiastic when working with children.
  • Organized and dependable.
  • Punctual.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced with chess instruction or tournament organization.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and mentor students of different skill levels.
  • Lead engaging chess lessons and activities.
  • Create a fun, supportive, and challenging learning environment.
  • Help manage student behavior and class participation.
  • Escort students to begin lessons on time.
