About The Position

The ENL Teacher will meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. This role involves developing and maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning, encouraging students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, and employing a variety of instructional techniques and media. The teacher will take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities, and will evaluate student progress. Additionally, the ENL Teacher will assist in upholding school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy, as well as in the selection of instructional materials. A key aspect of this role is establishing and maintaining open communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress. The position also includes personal and professional responsibilities such as nurturing positive relationships with colleagues, demonstrating respect, supporting corporation decisions, working as a team player, and handling sensitive issues tactfully and professionally.

Responsibilities

Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
Develop and maintain a classroom environment conductive to effective learning within the limits of the available resources.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the available resources.
Take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Evaluate student progress.
Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board policy.
Assist in selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning student academic and behavioral progress.
Perform all other reasonable assigned duties.
Nurture a positive relationship with super-ordinates, subordinates and peers.
Demonstrate respect for super-ordinates, subordinates and peers.
Support corporation decisions and direction relative to matters of policy and administrative directives.
Work as a team player.
Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
