About The Position

The ENL Instructional Assistant will support students learning English as a New Language under the supervision of the ENL Coach, ENL Collaborative Teacher, and Classroom Teacher. This role involves working with groups of students within the classroom, communicating instructional needs, and understanding Wida Can Do Standards. The assistant must be prepared for the workday, follow service schedules, and be flexible with changes. Other related duties may be assigned by the building principal or ENL Collaborative Teacher. The position requires nurturing positive relationships with peers, demonstrating respect, supporting corporation decisions, and working as a team player. The assistant must also be able to handle sensitive issues tactfully and professionally, addressing concerns and offering suggestions confidentially and appropriately.

Requirements

  • An associate of arts degree
  • Two years of college (48 credit hours)
  • Pass the ParaPro exam (state assessment test for knowledge of an ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing and math)
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to proficiently aid teacher.
  • Ability to work well with staff and students.
  • Be prepared for the workday.
  • Understand Wida Can Do Standards.

  • Teaching License Preferred

Responsibilities
