About The Position

This position assigns tasks, keeps workers on task, and inspects the quality of work while working alongside the crew members. The foreman is responsible for finding solutions should challenges arise.

Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
3+ years of experience overseeing installation crews
Valid driver’s license with a good record
Background check will be conducted
Possesses supervisor and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience with the techniques and equipment used in landscaping
Able to read blueprints
Good communication skills with management and general contractors
Time management and ability to meet daily deadlines
Ability to handle the physicality of our work: weather conditions, heavy lifting (30-80 pounds), and extensive walking
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to complete a successful drug screen as part of pre-employment testing

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Ensures client standards are attained by prioritizing projects, assigning work tasks to crew members, procuring required materials, filing work orders, and maintaining records of projects.
Conducts site inspections, provides hands-on leadership, and provides guidance for soil, planting, watering, and insect control.
Leads crew and participates in planting and trimming trees, shrubs, groundcover, sod, seed, watering, grading soil and gravel.
Drives and maintains company vehicles.
Trains personnel with a strong emphasis on safety.
Works with the General Manager to create work schedules and maintain them.
Shovels snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots, and spreads salt in those areas.
Operates powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
Uses hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
