It is a field-based, full-time, W-2 position requiring significant time spent on commercial properties. The core of the business is delivering on the promise of a project as scoped, ensuring customer satisfaction and company profitability. The role is not for those who sell first and figure out details later, but for those who can accurately scope and price projects for operational delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B sales, construction sales, landscape sales, project sales, or related commercial sales experience.
  • Proven track record selling at least $1,000,000+ annually in projects, services, construction, landscaping, or commercial accounts.
  • Experience managing project pipelines.
  • Working understanding of gross profit, deposits, change orders, and job closeout.
  • Strong estimating, proposal, scope, and follow-up discipline.
  • Ability to sell profitably, not just generate revenue.
  • Comfortable walking commercial properties in all weather.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel throughout Northwest Arkansas.
  • Located in Northwest Arkansas, or willing to relocate before starting.
  • Tech-comfortable and able to learn new tools quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for commercial project opportunities across Northwest Arkansas.
  • Build relationships with commercial property decision makers, owners, and managers.
  • Maintain an active project pipeline to ensure consistent revenue.
  • Identify maintenance opportunities from project customers and refer them to the maintenance team.
  • Walk commercial properties to identify improvement opportunities such as drainage issues, dying beds, or tired entrances.
  • Turn observations into specific, sellable projects.
  • Bring project ideas to customers who were not initially planning to spend.
  • Scope project needs clearly and in writing, including quantities, materials, exclusions, and access.
  • Prepare accurate estimates using real material and labor costs.
  • Present professional proposals that decision-makers can approve.
  • Explain change order expectations before the job starts.
  • Target 40%+ final gross profit on sold work.
  • Protect margin through clear scope, correct pricing, and disciplined change orders.
  • Push back on scope creep instead of absorbing it.
  • Collect deposits before work is scheduled.
  • Follow the billing structure for the project size.
  • Track deposits, change orders, and closeout status.
  • Ask for money as a normal part of the process.
  • Coordinate clean handoffs with production, communicating scope, site access, materials, and subcontractor needs.
  • Stay reachable while the job is in progress.
  • Own the project closeout process.
  • Maintain accurate opportunities, proposals, project stages, deposits, and change orders in the CRM.
  • Keep next steps and dates current in the CRM.
  • Ensure the pipeline is readable by others in the CRM.

Benefits

  • Base Salary: $60,000–$72,000 per year, depending on experience, existing relationships, and proven sales performance.
  • Uncapped project commission based on final collected gross profit.
  • Target earnings: $125,000–$175,000+.
  • Commission paid on final collected gross profit after job closeout, including collected change orders and adherence to scope/handoff requirements.
  • Team Inter-Referral Pool: 5% of first-year maintenance gross profit from projects referred to maintenance goes into a shared sales team pool for an annual sales team trip.
  • Full-time, W-2 position.
